Should Elin let Tiger Prowl?

Since that early Friday morning when Tiger decided to play bumper cars in his Isleworth community, the spotlight has been on him and his “indiscretions.”  We have seen the parade of women (10 and counting) come forward, from the various adult film stars to the nightclub hostess and of course, the Perkins Waitress.  While all we have heard from Tiger is what is posted on his website, we have heard less from Elin Woods directly but occasionally get a chance to read about her and the effect this episode has had on her.

Financially speaking, these “Indiscretions” have made Elin Woods a significant sum of money.  From the last reports, the prenup that the couple had, which guaranteed Elin $20 Million after 10 years of marriage has been changed.  Elin is now to receive an immediate payout of $5 Million followed by an additional $55 Million to stay with him for an additional two years.  Does this mean that she is going to allow him to continue extra-marital relationships?  If so, it wouldn’t be the first time an athlete’s wife has allowed this type of behavior.

There are two stories in particular that have surfaced over the last few years, one in regards to Andrei Kirilenko and the other Kenyon Martin.  In an interview with ESPN Magazine, Andrei’s wife, former Russian Pop star Masha Lopatova, says that she allows her husband to cheat once a year.  “What’s forbidden is always desirable. And athletes, particularly men, are susceptible to all the things they are offered.”  She contends that if she knows about it, that it is not cheating.  In a similar story, NBA star Kenyon Martin’s wife Heather provided him with a cell phone specifically for his groupies.  Her contention is also that it is not cheating if she knows about it.

Is the new prenup created between Tiger and Elin Woods an attempt to prove his fidelity or is this just hush money?  It was reported that as part of the prenup is that Elin has to maintain the appearance of the perfect couple, maybe now Elin and her new found millions will adopt a similar philosophy to Masha and Heather.

But one has to wonder, was such a marital arrangement in place already, even before the “transgressions”?
