Adidas Drops Arenas after Guilty Plea
by Peter Stenson
According to TMZ.com, Adidas dropped Washington Wizards star Gilbert Arenas after his guilty plea Friday for felony gun possession without a license.
Marketed as Agent 0 since 2003, Adidas may not have known Arenas would be doing his best 007 impression when he brought four guns into the Wizards’ locker-room as a result of a dispute with teammate Javaris Crittenton.
An Adidas company rep told TMZ in a statement, “In response to Gilbert Arenas’ guilty plea to felony charges, Adidas has terminated its agreement with the athlete effective immediately.”
Arenas has been suspended by the Washington Wizards indefinitely and awaits judicial sentencing on March 26th.
