Marbury,  is most famously known for his public disputes with Larry Brown and Isiah Thomas, both of whom were head coaches of the New York Knicks.   Marbury allegedly was unhappy over playing time and refused to play, thus prompting  a trade to the Boston Celtics in 2008. He was offered a one year contract to play with the Celtics for the 2009-2010 season but declined.

The 32 year old hailing from Brooklyn, New York, is looking to help the struggling Shanxi club, which is currently the 15th team out of 17 in the league, to make the playoffs.
