Exclusive Interview with Maker of Tiger Woods Mistress Golf Balls!
by Leon Walker
Golf balls bearing pictures of 12 of the women that Tiger Woods allegedly had affairs with have gone on sale.
The “Tail of the Tiger” golf ball set has been released by Canadian company Creative Classics and retails at $44.95 for a set of 12 “for play”, or five dollars more for a “display” collection.
Mike Caldwell – the creator of the Tiger-baiting memorabilia, has said that he has so far sold around $40,000 worth of the balls – his entire first order and is scrambling to keep up with demand.
“I’ve got three manufacturers, one in Canada, one in the US and one overseas,” Caldwell told the Courtside Post.
“I’m getting orders from Marakech, New Zealand, England, France. Everywhere.”
Caldwell – a writer by trade – says inspiration to create the golf balls struck late in December.
“When I’m writing books – I find a need and I fill it,” he says. “The need here is that millions of golfers around the world are shocked and saddened by [the Tiger Woods scandal]. I’m thinking, what are you going to do about it Caldwell?”
The answer, he says, was make Tiger’s fans laugh. He came up with the idea for the balls, made a prototype and less than a month later he was sitting at a booth at a trade fair in Orlando.
72 hours after that, Caldwell says: “It went nuclear”.
Business is booming for Caldwell and so is the amount of media attention he is receiving. When the Courtside Post first rang, Caldwell had to delay a talk with us, as he was slap bang in the middle of a TV interview for CHBC in Canada.
Tonight he expects to be the subject of a story on Inside Edition.
So what can novelty sports paraphernalia can fans expect next? A Gilbert Arenas-brand hand-gun? A pregnancy testing kit bearing the image of Tim Tebow?
Maybe, but not from Caldwell. After this set of 12 balls has run its course, his sights are tentatively set on a further set of eight balls – featuring images of eight more of Tiger’s alleged dalliances. There’s currently only one problem:
Explains Caldwell: “So far he’s only at 19.”
