George Hill Catches the “Naked Athletes Taking Nude Photos of Themselves” Fever!
by Peter Stenson
San Antonio Spurs guard George Hill is the latest athlete to rock pictures of himself naked, flexing, posturing, posing, into a mirror. Surprise, these pictures ended up on the Internet.
Surprise, Hill has an enormous…ego.
According to tmz.com, lawyers from the San Antonio Spurs asked Thedirty.com, the website originally posting Hill’s self-portrait masterpieces, to remove the photographs “immediately and permanently.”
The lawyers from Thedirty.com replied with the most sensible argument in judicial history – that they had every right to publish pictures of “celebrities making fools of themselves.”
George Hill becomes another notch in the belt of athletes who can’t get enough of themselves naked. Like the article I wrote earlier this week, Hill joins Sizemore, Holmes and Oden as stars that love to use their phones for extracurricular activities. And perhaps I was wrong in that article, seeing no possible way out of this fever that has taken over the world. Maybe it is simpler than Greek mythology and globalization and the psychology of fame.
Maybe camera-phones need to become illegal for anybody receiving a pay cheek for playing sports. Like guns – I mean, that worked for Plaxico and Arenas.
