Erin Andrews Set to Square off Versus Ochocinco on Dancing With the Stars!

by CSP Staff Writer

I will finally watch Dancing with the Stars.

One year removed from the “peephole video” scandal that changed Erin Andrews’ life forever, ESPN’s sexy sideline reporter is set to compete on ABC’s Dancing with the Stars, taking on fellow contestant Chad Ochocinco.

Andrews, who appeared on Oprah in September claiming that the attention, paparazzi and aftermath of the scandal had “been a nightmare”, is making many scratch their heads pondering her decision to enter the field of DWTS.  After all, ABC will definitely showcase her figure with revealing outfits and provocative dance moves, as they do with most attractive contestants.  It may also be puzzling at first glance since she told Oprah that the attention the peephole video garnered made her feel like she was being “treated like Britney Spears.”  But according to Andrews, this was something that she was contemplated way before the peephole scandal broke.

She told the Sporting News last May that while she said no to certain types of appearances that she felt would detract from her reputation as a journalist, she would jump at the chance to be on “DWTS.”

“I want to do it, because I think I’d be good at it,” she told Dan Steinberg for The Sporting Blog. “That’s the big push,” she continued. “I would love it love it love it. I want to be like, ‘Who do I call? Let’s do this.’ ”

The beautiful Andrews also has a dancing background.  She was a member of the Dazzlers Dance Team as a student at the University of Florida, and her sister, Kendra, is a professional dancer who appeared in a Chad Dennis video and has a major role in “Step Up 3-D,” a dance movie due out this August.

Andrews will be competing in a field featuring:

Pamela Anderson (model/actress)
Buzz Aldrin (former astronaut)
Chad Ochocinco (NFL, Cincinnati Bengals)
Shannon Doherty (actress – Beverly Hills 90210)
Kate Gosselin (reality TV star)
Jake Pavelka (The Bachelor)
Nicole Scherzinger (singer, Pussycat Dolls)
Aiden Turner (actor, All My Children)
Evan Lysacek (Olympic skater)
Niecy Nash (Queens of Comedy comedian)
