Roethlisberger Accused of Sexual Assault-Again
By Brittni Michaelis
Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback, Ben Roethlisberger, is in hot water once again. A 20-year-old female student from Georgia College & State University has accused Big Ben of sexually assaulting her in a bathroom at the Capital City nightclub in Milledgeville, Georgia.
The Associated Press interviewed several other college students who were present at the Capital City nightclub, the night that the alleged assault occurred and Amber Hanley, a 21-year old college student provided the most details. “She and a few friends were also in the VIP area with Roethlisberger. She said she asked the quarterback to take a photo with her friend, whose boyfriend was a fan, but he seemed disappointed that’s all she wanted. Hanley said she rolled her eyes, and Roethlisberger called her an expletive and walked away. Later, Roethlisberger was aggressively hitting on another girl.”
According to police in Milledgeville, Roethlisberger was interviewed, released and has not been charged with a crime. In an effort to save his name and possibly get out of jail time, if charged and convicted, Roethlisberger has hired Ed Garland, an Atlanta based attorney who coincidentally represented Ravens Linebacker, Ray Lewis, back in 2000 when he was facing murder charges.
According to TMZ, “the woman accusing Ben Roethlisberger of sexual assault was “hysterical” when she spoke with cops … this according to a source at the Milledgeville Police Department. We’re told Ben’s accuser arrived at the Police Dept. with three other women. According to a source at the police department, “Ben’s accuser was extremely emotional and looked like she had been crying for hours.”
You might remember back in 2008, Andrea McNulty, an employee at the Harrah’s hotel in Lake Tahoe, accused Big Ben of sexually assaulting her in a hotel room, while the quarterback was in town playing in a celebrity golf tournament. Although no charges were filed, McNulty is still suing Roethlisberger.
