Spencer Loomis, Managing Editor

Mr. Loomis oversees content on the Courtside Post in addition to contributing to the marketing and operating strategy for the site. Spencer joined the Courtside Post as a journalism and marketing intern in January 2010 and has also worked in business development for the site. A recent graduate from the University of Colorado’s Leeds School of Business emphasizing in Operations Management, Mr. Loomis has been a passionate sports fan all of his life and is a regular contributor to the CSP.

mattyMatt Etlinger, Partner and Editor in Chief

Mr. Etlinger founded the Courtside Post and serves as Editor in Chief and oversees the company’s business development and growth strategies.   Mr. Etlinger co-founded eSwarm.com, a Boulder-based social networking technology for outdoor enthusiasts that offers eye-popping “deals of the day.”  At eSwarm, Mr. Etlinger assists in developing the companies business and revenue models, strategic social media plans, and is responsible for overseeing the company’s business development efforts.  Prior to eSwarm, Mr. Etlinger held business development positions with the National Basketball Association’s New York Knicks and Phoenix Suns. He has also held positions at the New Jersey Sports and Exposition Authority and the University of Massachusetts Athletics Department. At the age of 21, he implemented various entrepreneurial initiatives as President of Umassm, the nation’s largest undergraduate sport management organization. Mr. Etlinger graduated with a B.S. in Sport Management from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst.

Mr. Sturgeon oversees the company’s design, content management, and user experience.  Mr. Sturgeon also produces the Courtside Post’s custom videos and other multimedia. As well as develops and executes the Courtside Posts marketing strategy.  Mr. Sturgeon also serves as VP of online marketing at eSwarm, a Boulder-based social networking website.  At eSwarm, he works with senior management to develop eSwarm’s online presence. By incorporating Social Media, Search Engine Marketing, and current Internet trends, Mr. Sturgeon implements strategies to manage and expand eSwarm’s online visibility and develop new streams of traffic to the website.  Before even reaching high school Mr. Sturgeon was part of a team which developed one of the world’s first online student newspapers, “The Vocal Point”, which earned international recognition from organizations as far away as Japan for being at the forefront of emerging online technologies.  Over the past 10 years, Mr. Sturgeon has owned or operated variety successful businesses in the e-commerce space including an affiliate marketing program.  Also during that time, Mr. Sturgeon consulted with firms ranging from construction to retail on methodologies and implementations of strategic online marketing campaigns. Most recently, Mr. Sturgeon implemented a search engine optimization campaign for brand new e-commerce retail website which resulted in a listing in the second position on the first page of Google within 4 months, greatly contributing to it generating over $150,000 in revenue in its first six months. Additionally, Mr. Sturgeon currently sits on the board of directors for Insulite Laboratories and The Advanced Learning Institute.  Mr. Sturgeon attended DeVry University where he studied Entrepreneurship focusing on e-commerce.
