Watch Video, Urban Meyer Confronts Reporter

Coaches lately have felt a little too comfortable lashing out at the media and Urban Meyer is the latest in a list of guys who feel the sense of entitlement. Jeremey Fowler of the Orlando Sentinel quoted Gators Wide Receiver Deonte Thompson in an article saying this about Tim Tebow and how Brantley, the new Gators QB, is more of a conventional, pocket passig QB:

“You never know with Tim. He can bolt. You’ll think he’s running, but then he’ll just come up and pass it to you. You just have to be ready at all times. With Brantley everything’s with rhythm, time. Like, you know what I mean, a real quarterback.”

Well, Meyer was not happy about this. Check out the video as he confronts Fowler.

However, in that gap which can feel like an endless time warp, there are a few weeks that always manage to capture the attention of even the dullest sports fan. This is the time of year when pieces of paper turn into a way of extra income, when human beings believe they have psychic powers and when dreams can become nightmares. And then there’s also basketball.

No Link to Media Racism in Roethlisberger Coverage

by Matt Etlinger

There seems to be a sentiment brewing in the African American Community that Ben Roethlisberger, who is being accused of sexual assault, is being let off the hook by the American Media because he is white. On Friday, I was casually watching Rick’s List (Rick Sanchez’ program on CNN) when he invited on Dexter Rogers, an opinionated sports journalist from Examiner.com. I was a bit surprised to overhear Rodgers tell Sanchez that Roethlisberger was “getting a pass” from the media because of his skin color. Disagreeing with Rogers, I decided to look into the issue a bit deeper.
