The Pinstripe Bowl Coming to the Bronx

The Pinstripe Bowl Coming to the Bronx

by Nick Bruner

For a baseball purist like myself, it will be odd and slightly disturbing to see the lights of New Yankee Stadium shining in late December. One of the reasons for the ratings is U.S Men’s Figure Skater Johnny Weir.

The idea of revenue sharing is a key part of the “any given Sunday” philosophy that the league prides itself on. With huge upsets such as the Cleveland Browns and Oakland Raiders defeating the defending Super Bowl champion Pittsburgh Steelers, sorry for the nasty flashbacks Steelers fans, we were reminded that anything can indeed happen in the NFL. Another great aspect about the “any given Sunday” theory is that it sometimes turns into an “any given season” situation. We have seen great stories the last two seasons in teams like the New Orleans Saints and Arizona Cardinals. Without revenue sharing in place, these rags to riches stories would surely be seldom seen.
