Stephon Marbury left for the Chinese Basketball Association’s Shanxi club in January with hopes of finding a new market for his Starbury brand shoes and apparel line. Well it seems he left some unfinished business behind here in the states. Marbury launched his Starbury line with the aid of the Agency Sports Management LLC, which according to their website “is a full-service marketing and management company specializing in the representation of high-profile personalities and brands.”

BUZZ Every year, truly committed fans looking for an opportunity to flee their team’s chilly hometown conditions journey south for an opportunity to warm up and watch their favorite players participate sparingly in the exhibition pre-season that is Major League Baseball’s Spring Training. Teams from the American League and National League are combined into two different leagues; the Cactus League in Arizona, and the Grapefruit League in Florida. With pitchers and catchers reporting to training camps today, let’s take a look at what the leagues have to offer in terms of the fan experience.

Following last night’s loss to archrival Duke, UNC Head Coach Roy Williams had an opportunity to put the team’s unsuccessful season into proper perspective and show why he gets paid the big bucks to handle these tough situations. Instead he used the postgame press conference as an opportunity to see how far he could fit his foot into his mouth. Clearly the season is stressing the coach out, so certainly massage therapy seems like a healthy way to relieve all the pressure he is under. Except when the massage leads to quotes like this…

BUZZ The festivities got underway a day early in Dallas leading up to the All-Star Weekend. Maverick Jason Terry and hip-hop star Busta Rhymes kicked things off with a party Wednesday night in downtown Dallas at Skye Bar. Jason “The Jet” Terry laid the entendre down thick yesterday when he tweeted “DFW its going down the official nba allstar tipoff party 2nite BOARDROOM takeoff wit the JET”.
