After vowing to never miss another birthday of one of his children, Tiger Woods missed his daughter’s 3rd birthday while competing in the U.S. Open. He threw her a party after the fact to make up for it, but reportedly brought another woman with him.

According to former SportsCenter anchor and current Entertainment Tonight reporter, Kevin Frazier, Woods’ marriage to former supermodel Elin Nordegren is over. The two are reportedly in talks to be finalizing the divorce, though no one has retained a lawyer, it is only a matter of time says several sources.

In 1931, golf legend Bobby Jones fresh off what was considered the Grand Slam at the time ( having won the US and British Opens and Amateur Championships in 1930) purchased a plot of land in Georgia known then as Fruitlands Nursery. There Jones built his dream course and opened Augusta National Golf Club. His prowess drew immediate attention to its annual invitational tournament which was first held in 1934. Jones felt it was too pretentious to call the tournament “The Masters” but his co-owner and business partner Clifford Roberts eventually convinced him and so it has been known since 1938. Nearly 80 years after Jones bought the land the hallowed grounds of Augusta National continue to echo with the footsteps of legends like Ben Hogan, Arnold Palmer, and Jack Nicklaus.

Tiger entered the Augusta National Press Conference room smiling, and greeting reporters. This was nothing like his eery, White House-esque statement he gave back in February. This was a likable Tiger, a humbled Tiger, and a much more comfortable Tiger. Tiger was open and honest when talking about the fans at Augusta, his peers on the tour, his use of Pain Medication, and all golf and injury related issues. He still kep things close to the vest when discussing the night of the accident and his rehab experience. When asked about his expectations for the Masters Tournament, he responded with a smile saying “Nothing’s changed. I am going to go out there and try to win this thing.”

Tiger Woods is caught in another scandal. No, it is not another mistress coming forward, but this time it is about a lie that Woods told back in 2005.

According to Woods, his first day of kindergarten was a traumatic one for the young cub. “A group of sixth graders tied me to a tree, spray-painted the word ‘n***er’ on me, and threw rocks at me. That was my first day of school. And the teacher really didn’t do much of anything.”

Clearly the press has been anything but positive for Tiger Woods since his Thanksgiving debacle but the old adage seems to be proving true: any publicity is good publicity.

Golfsmith, the nation’s largest golf retailer, has reported that sales of Tiger Woods brand apparel through Nike are up 8% in the last five months compared with the same five month period from a year ago. From October 1st, 2009 through March 13th, 2010 Golfsmith sold 9,564 TW brand items; up from 8,855 from the same dates the previous year.

Lucky number 15? Meet Devon James, an adult entertainer living in Tampa, Florida, who is now claiming she too had a sexual relationship with Woods.

According to a report on RadarOnline, “James called into the Bubba The Love Sponge radio show Tuesday, and dished on a two-and-a-half year affair she claims to have had with the golfer, spanning from the end of 2006 through 2008.”

Tiger Woods is coming back to the PGA Tour and has chose the grandest stage in golf to do so. He is coming back to an event that he has never missed in his 13 year career. A place where he has won 4 times, amassed 10 top-10 finishes, but has not won since 2005.

Tiger released a statement on his return for Augusta which will take place on April 5-11. According to a statement released by the Woods camp, Tiger said “Even though I am returning to competition, I still have a lot of work to do in my personal life. I have been treated for two months of outpatient therapy.”

The athlete of the decade is sending signals that he is set to return to the tour in time for the Masters.

The latest sign is that Tiger has been working on his swing with famous golf instructor Hank Haney. The pair have been spotted working together at the Isleworth driving range since Sunday and seem to have plans to continue working together in preparation for the Masters at Augusta National which will take place this upcoming April 8-11. Haney and Woods famously reworked Tiger’s swing back in 2004, a move that eventually paid off.

Upon watching Wood’s statement yesterday morning, Allred decided to address her client concerns over the radio. She referred to Tiger’s statement as a “staged public relations stunt.”
